Berewick is a large development near the intersection of Shopton Road and Steele Creek Road in the fast-growing southwest Charlotte area. The neighborhood is made up of many individual villages with different styles of homes ranging from all brick two story homes to brick facade and smaller wood-sided homes. Construction started in the mid-2000s and is ongoing.

Prices start around $150,000 for a 2,500 square foot home. The larger homes that are 3,500 square feet and up are going for $300,000. There are about a half dozen different home builders in the community.

At the center of the community is the 5,200 square foot Berewick Manor House that residents can use as a gathering spot. There is also a junior Olympic-sized pool and large grassy areas for soccer. The Berewick Recreation Center is open to the community on weekday evenings and weekends, and offers a basketball court, art classes, and other activities. The recreation center is shared by the new Berewick Elementary School and within walking distance from every Berewick home.

Interstate 485 is just a few minutes away, allowing for easy access to downtown Charlotte, the airport and Interstate 77. Just west of the community is Lake Wylie, where you’ll find a full range of watersports.

For shopping, the southwest side of Charlotte has boomed in recent years. The outdoor malls at the corner of Steele Creek Road and Tryon Street offer a full range of grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, smaller retail outlets and larger big-box stores like Target.
