I cannot properly express my excitement about Durham and its innovative civic leadership and citizens. Interesting announcement in The Herald-Sun today about a new group called, Bull City Forward.
Bill Kalkoff, who seems to have been proselytizing forever on the downtown re-development front has helped envision a group whose leaders want to create an incubator for "socially innovative companies." While I am not entirely sure what this means and how it will play-out, it is thrilling to me that Durham continues to think-forward and continues to show the iconoclastic instincts that ought to come from a highly diverse, well-educated community.
I continue to say that Durham (for years considered the slow-to-act, blue collar, dysfunctional, second cousin to other areas in The Triangle) is becoming the most arts and culture supporting, friendly to business, socially responsible community in the state.
Congratulations to all of us!
