Charlotte Real Estate and Education

Aside from the numerous public school available to Charlotte real estateowners, there are also several outstanding private schools offering education from kindergarten to 12th grade. Charlotte-Mecklenburg School systems are the second largest in North Carolina and the 20th largest in the nation. Charlotte real estate owners are also in close proximity to several colleges.

Queens College is a private, master's level university offering both liberal arts and professional studies.  They offer studies to approximately 2,600 students and have a 12:1 student teacher ratio.

Johnson & Wales University has over 16,000 students who are studying one of three academic units: College of Business, College of Culinary Arts and the Hospitality College.

Johnson C. Smith University is a private, co-ed, liberal arts college.  The college is located in the heart of Charlotte and is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The major studies includes Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Social Work.

Charlotte Demographics

Charlotte real estate has over 200 neighborhoods that radiate from all areas of the city. While the North Tryon and Sugar Creek area is home to many Asian-American communities, Myers Park and Dilworth areas are some of the oldest and largest Charlotte real estate. The NoDa (North Davidson) district is emerging into an enclave of urban  young professionals.  Ballantyne (South Charlotte) is an relatively new area where many young professional and families reside.  The Park Road and SouthPark area have larger older homes and some newer neighborhoods as well.  The northeast side of Charlotte real estate is considered University City because of UNC Charlotte and home to many students and researchers. The east side of Central Avenue is known for the international population that resides there such as Greeks, Middle Easterners and Hispanics.

Charlotte Real Estate and Entertainment

The Charlotte real estate owners have access to many outdoor and indoor entertainment venues regardless of what area one resides.  Southeast Charlotte real estate is home to many golf courses, luxury housing developments, mega-churches, shopping, the Jewish Community Center and many options for dining.  Uptown Charlotte real estate offers many festivals throughout the year, the Epi-Centre which has a state-of-the-art theater and nightlife options, fine dining and sporting events at Time Warner Cable Arena. The South Boulevard and NoDa district has several live music venues, unique restaurants and nightclubs.

Charlotte real estate is home to the Carolina Panthers, a professional football team and the Charlotte Bobcats, a professional basketball team.  The Carolina Panthers play at the Bank of America Stadium off I-77 and the Charlotte Bobcats play at Time Warner Arena, both located in Uptown Charlotte.  Several other teams are located in Charlotte such as the Charlotte Checkers, an ice hockey team, and the  Charlotte Eagles which are a soccer team founded in 1993.

The Queen City has several museums that provide entertainment for the whole family.  Discovery Place is a wonderful interactive museum for children of all ages.  Charlotte real estate owners also have access to several museums such as the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Charlotte nature Museum, Levine Museum of the New South, The Light Factory, NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Mint Museum of Art to name a few.
