Annually there are many events: East Atlanta Strut, Corndogorama, East Atlanta Beer festival, EAV Farmers Market and the Drive-Invasion. In 2005 a new library was acquired in the area. In 1981 the East Atlanta Community Association, http://eaca.net/ began to build and strengthen relationships. A strong sense of community resides in East Atlanta as a result of this move. Walk away from down town to see many homes with yards in quiet neighborhoods. Housing availability ranges from victorian, craftsman, postwar and newly constructed homes.
