Highland Creek is one of Charlotte’s finest and most unique communities. Located on the north side of the city, the vast neighborhood is made up of several smaller developments, each with its own distinctive features. All of them center around Highland Creek Golf Club, an 18 hole course that is one of the best public courses in the Charlotte area.

Many of the homes start in the $150,000 range for a spacious 1,700 square foot abode. However, most homes go for $300,000 for a 3,000 square foot home with brick facade and garage. Many of these homes also offer nice views of the golf course which weaves its way through the development.

Highland Creek Amenities

The community was built in the early 1990s, and since then the surrounding retail and restaurant districts have blossomed into some of Charlotte’s best. The Prosperity Road area, just south of Highland Creek, offers some of the best outdoor mall shopping on the north side of the city including several Harris Teeter grocery stores, Trader Joe’s and Hawthorne’s Pizza. There are also many other smaller retail stores, coffee shops and big-box stores.

Highland Creek is also unique among many newer developments in Charlotte because of the elementary school at the center of the neighborhood near the golf course. Kids can walk or bike to school each morning and parents can feel secure that their school is made up of only students in the surrounding neighborhood.
