Hope Valley Farms is a large, planned community bordered between Hope Valley Road, Martin Luther King Blvd. and Fayetteville Road in Durhams southern area. Hope Valley Farms began building in the early 1990's. There is still some new construction, but most sites already have structures.
As with most planned communities, Hope Valley Farms has established a variety of neighborhoods within the total subdivision. Single family homes are clustered in clusters by price as are areas on which townhomes and condominiums have been built.
Hope Valley Farms has wide streets and sidewalks. It has a lovely clubhouse including a large pool, tennis courts and a playground. The club offers swimming and tennis instruction and a work-out room. Hope Valley Farms recreational opportunities extend throughout the community, with vast amounts of paved walking trails and easy access to the American Tobacco Trail, which extends to downtown Durham to the North and the Research Triangle Park to the southwest of Durham.
