Johnston county is at the crossroads of I-40 and I-95 making it a thoroughfare for many travelers. It also makes for easy access to Atlantic Coast beaches which are only a 2 hour drive away. To the west of Johnston County real estate are the Appalachian mountains are only a 4 hour drive.

Things to Do in Johnston County

Johnston County real estate has something for everyone. For those that love shopping you can enjoy the Factory Stores of America; an outlet mall in Smithfield. The outlet offers more than 70 stores. If antiques are your thing, head to Downtown Selma and buy a piece of history at one of the numerous antique stores.

Johnston County real estate is home to Bentonville, which was the largest military engagement ever fought on North Carolina soil and is the largest Civil War battlefield in N.C.

Once you've visited Bentonville, you'll also want to stop by the Atkinson's Mill. Atkinson's Mill is a 240 year old gristmill located on Johnston County real estate. To round out your historical tour, swing by the Tobacco Farm Life Museum for a look at eastern North Carolina's rural heritage.

The Ava Gardner Museum is also an attraction worth visiting. Ava Gardner is 25th among the American File Institute's greatest female stars. The museum commemorates the career of the film legend who was born and raised near Smithfield.
