Kirkwood's downtown area is now affectionately known as 'small town in the big city'. The eclectic area has many shops including artistic locations, spas, restaurants, real estate offices, bars and coffee shops to name a few of its businesses. Rezoning and a streetscape project helped revitalize the area. Yearly in Kirkwood there is the Kirkwood Spring Fling and Tour of Homes. Every summer is the Kirkwood Wine Stroll, along with July's B*ATL event. Homes in Kirkwood include a large selection of Victorian and Craftsman style homes mixed in with modern homes, and newly built lofts. Kirkwood is a quaint area with a little city feel.
