CED Finalizes Demo Line-up for InfoTech 2005 26 NC-based Technologies on Display at 15th Annual Conference July 19, 2005, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has selected an additional 21 North Carolina-based demo participants for InfoTech 2005 – bringing the total number of featured technologies to 26. Scheduled for Oct 12 at the RTP Sheraton Imperial Hotel, CED's 15th annual InfoTech conference will offer selected demo participants an opportunity to showcase their technologies to hundreds of investors, potential strategic partners and customers, corporate executives and IT entrepreneurs. The 21 recently selected InfoTech 2005 demo participants include MyBode, Inc. More details on all of the InfoTech 2005 demo participants are available online at http://www.cednc.org/conferences/infotech/2005/demo_participants/. Brooks Malone, chair of the InfoTech 2005 demo selection committee and a partner with Raleigh-based Hughes Pittman & Gupton LLP, said the demo participants will provide a fresh look at the expanding pipeline of innovation in North Carolina. "With such a high-quality group of applicants this year, we were able to select a diverse line-up of demo participants that represent our state's enormous potential in technology," said Malone. "In particular, I am pleased with the variety of new and emerging technologies on display, including university breakthroughs and entrepreneurial start-ups." The InfoTech 2005 demo selection committee chose demo participants based on their level of innovation, current/potential market application and "demo-ability". CED sought applications from North Carolina-based entrepreneurial companies, university spin-outs, garage entrepreneurs, students, IT corporations and local research institutions. This year's InfoTech demo participants will be eligible for the 3rd Annual People's Choice Awards, which will be voted on by conference attendees at the Oct. 12 event. Maverick Marketing will provide $7,500 in marketing communication services to the first place winner and $2,500 to the second place winner. Beyond the demo exhibits, InfoTech 2005 will also include discussions on IT trends and issues through panel sessions and featured speakers.
