The North Davidson Street area of Charlotte, or NoDa as locals call it, has become the best destination in town for budding artists and musicians. Located just north of downtown Charlotte, NoDa offers many different homes—some that are former mill houses, some that are newer. Home values have nearly doubled in the past 10 years, as people have moved into the area and refurbished many of the venerable old houses. A standard home in the area starts around $150,000 but there are many larger homes that go for at least twice as much.

Several new condominium projects have also been built in recent years, including three in the heart of the NoDa shopping district.
NoDa is known as an arts district and is located around the intersection of 36th Street and Davidson Street. Many galleries call NoDa home, and on any given day you will find the artists sipping coffee at one of the several coffee shops in the area. NoDa features several unique restaurants, from crepes, to fish tacos to Cajun and there are also great places to catch live music, including the Neighborhood Theater, The Evening Muse and several smaller bars.
Several times a year, NoDa hosts a gallery crawl where local artists set up booths on the sidewalks. It’s one of the best and longest running street festivals in the Charlotte area.
The NoDa area is also just a few minutes drive to Plaza Midwood shopping district and downtown Charlotte. Interstate 85 is a short drive west.
The Johnson YMCA is located along North Davidson Street one block from central NoDa, and there are several other gyms within walking distance.
