The North Ridge Club was chartered in 1967 by North Hills, Inc., a Raleigh-based corporate venture business. The club was purchased by members in 1978 and became a private, family oriented country club.

It is located on nearly 400 acres of rolling countryside in Northern Raleigh. The two championship level golf courses are named "The Oaks" and "The Lakes." They were originally built by golf course architect Gene Hamm and George Cobb. Recently, they were updated and upgraded by John LaFoy, who also has worked on the 9 hole par three course at famed Augusta National and was the architect chosen to re-design and upgrade Croasdaile Country Club in Durham, NC.
The clubhouse is a large, 70,000 square foot building which was udpated in the 1990's. North Ridge Country Club also has an Olympic sized swimming pool and swim clubhouse. Over the years this wonderful country club has hosted many golf and charitable events.
North Ridge is bound by Falls of the Neuse Road to the west and north, and by Spring Forest Road to the south and the Northern Wake Expressway to the east. Residents are 30 minutes from Raleigh-Durham airport, 20 minutes to some parts of Research Triangle Park,, 10 minutes to downtown Raleigh and 30 minutes to downtown Durham.
