The Overlook neighborhood is one of Charlotte’s most exclusive in the northwest section of the city. The large, wooded development is located along Mountain Island Lake off Mt. Holly Huntersville Road, just minutes from Highway 16 and Interstate 485.

The community features homes that range from $300,000 for a 3,300 square foot, all brick home, to $800,000 for a palatial 4,500 square foot water-front home. Most lots have many large trees, and sidewalks throughout are great for late afternoon strolls

Overlook Amenities

Overlook features a boat storage area, and a ramp for unloading a boat into a quiet Mountain Island cove and many lakefront properties with their own docks. On many warm days, you can find families carrying canoes down to the lake for an afternoon on the lake.

There is also a nice swim club with tennis courts and play sets for the kids. Because many trees were spared when the homes were built, Overlook features many shaded areas along winding sidewalks that are great for a late afternoon stroll or jog.

At the corner of Highway 16 and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road you’ll find a Harris Teeter, Walmart, several restaurants and retail stores. A short drive up Interstate 485 is North Lake Mall, one of the Charlotte areas largest.

There are also plenty of elementary schools in the area, including Mountain Island Elementary and Mountain Island Charter School. There’s also a new library just minutes away.
