Parkwood is generally positioned along Route 54, and bordered by Route 55 and Fayetteville Road in Durham.

Parkwood is an ideal neighborhood for first time home-buyers and families, as well as a friendly community close to all major work and shopping areas in The Triangle.  The average square footage in Parkwood is about 1,500. It is a neighborhood that consistently is active in homes sales.

This is a mature neighborhood with lots that range from .33 acres to .50 acres.  Therefore, lots are larger than many newer communities with comparably sized homes.  Most lots are wooded with a variety of hardwoods and pines. There is a community library, community lake and it has its own convenience store near the entrance.
