However, most of the homes in the older section of the neighborhood are built on more than an acre of land and are buffered from the road by a wooded area. Drive ways wind through the woods to get to the homes, creating an “estate” feel. Styles range from a more modest ranch homes and unique modern designs in the older section, to large two story homes that were built in the 1980s and 1990s in the newer part of the neighborhood.
Because of the diversity of homes in Providence Plantation, most sell for between $300,000 to $1 million and more.
While it may feel like the neighborhood is located in a country setting, there are a wide range of amenities just minutes away including The Arboretum shopping center at the corner of Providence Road and Highway 51. Here you’ll find a full-service Harris Teeter Grocery Store, Walmart, many restaurants, a coffee shop, movie theater, and dozens of boutique stores.
Providence High School, one of Charlotte’s largest and best, is just a few minutes drive up Highway 51, and Charlotte Latin, one of the most prestigious private schools is less than a mile from the neighborhood.
