Homes were built from 1997 to current day. Amenities include golf club with large clubhouse, snack bar, swimming pool, and tennis courts. The HOA is active and fees are on the more expensive side, covering grounds and clubhouse maintenance. Schools serving River Ridge are Barwell Elementary, East Garner Middle and Garner High.
The neighborhood is considered to be country, but is comfortably close to I440 and I40; RDU International Airport is 24 miles. Shopping is fairly convenient within 10 to 15 minutes for basic shopping, 25 minutes to a wider variety of shopping and restaurants. Downtown Raleigh is 20 minutes by car.
