Stonehaven is one of southeast Charlotte’s best known and oldest neighborhoods. Located between Rama, Sardis and Monroe roads, the sprawling neighborhood offers some of the best deals in the area.
Because the neighborhood was started in the late 1960s, the homes come in a wide range of styles from one story ranch, to newer, two story brick with garages. Price points start in the $100,000 range for a quaint 1,500 square foot home with a fire place and ample yard, to $400,000 for a 3,500+ square foot home with an updated interior and 3 acres of land.
The winding, tree-lined streets throughout the neighborhood create the perfect place for walking or riding a bike. And while there is no pool or clubhouse, there are plenty of options close by including Sardis Swim and Raquet Club which is a short walk from most homes in the neighborhood.
Stonehaven is also close to some of the Charlotte area’s best public and private schools. East Meck High School is located on the northeast side of the development, while Charlotte Christian and Providence Day schools are on the west side of the neighborhood.
The neighborhood is tucked in a heavily wooded area, but it is also just minutes from the best shopping and dining in the entire region. South Park Mall is less than a 10 minute drive and features the best upscale boutiques, bistros and department stores in North and South Carolina. The Cotswald shopping district has been updated in recent years and offers many more restaurants and shopping options including a 24-hour Harris Teeter grocery store.
McAlpine Park, one of Charlotte’s oldest and best, is near Stonehaven and offers miles of walking and running trails as well as plenty of soccer pitches. And all the amenities downtown Charlotte has to offer is less than a 20 minute drive northwest.
