Sutherland is a Wake Forest Community located just off New Light Road north of Hwy 98 East at Six Forks Rd.  Sutherland offers a variety of homestyles on large lots, sized 0.92 to 1.84 acres.  As one drives down the road, you notice many mailboxes and all woods - houses are set back quite a ways from the roadside creating a feeling of private, country living.

Built in two phases, the older phase was started in 2001 and features very nice homes, averaging 3400 square feet and priced in the high $300s to low $500s.  The second phase began in 2005 and offers high-end homes and estate-style homes on 1 to 2 acre lots.  Homes in this phase are priced from the mid $700s to $1.2 million and average 5500 square feet.

There is an active HOA although there is not a community pool or sidewalks.  Schools serving the neighborhood are Pleasant Union Elementary, Wakefield Middle and Wakefield High. Sutherland is comfortably close to I-540 via Hwy 98 and Creedmoor Rd, and is a 35 minute commute to RDU International Airport and RTP, and 15 to 20 minutes to shopping of all kinds either in Wake Forest, North Raleigh/Six Forks area, or East Durham.  Downtown Raleigh is 40 minutes by car.
