This eclectic neighborhood is home to a variety of local artists and was named as Best Neighborhood for Artists in 2010 by Creative Loafing Magazine. Plus, the West End is also considered the center of Atlanta's African-American culture. You'll find a great mix of cultural locals, like the Hammonds House, the African Djeli, the Soul Vegetarian South, and the Shrine of the Black Madonna church. The neighborhood is becoming more and more racially diverse, with new residents to the area being very welcomed by the community members.

Local residents and their children will enjoy good public schools and can also find a variety of parks and recreation in the area to use for a rousing game of basketball or softball or, for the more leisurely-inclined, maybe just a day in the park with the kids or family dog.
